2024-2025 Elder Nominees.

Joel Babcock

Current Elder | 2021 - Present
Joel and his family have lived in Williston since 2011. He is married to Cindy who is a preschool teacher at WTCS. They have three boys. Jonathan and Caleb attend UND and Ethan graduated from WTCS this May. Joel grew up on the mission field and came to know the Lord at an early age. He did not commit to the Lord until he was 13 years old when it became evident to him what life after death would mean without God. As a married couple Joel and Cindy served as missionaries for a combined ten years in Cambodia and Croatia. He appreciates New Hope’s focus on discipleship, keeping your faith real and alive, and having Jesus the focal point.

Steve Black

Current Elder | 2021 - Present
I accepted Christ when I was young around 5 or 6 years old and He has been an integral part of my life since then. I am married to my beautiful wife Chelsie and have two incredible children Hunter (11) and Hallie (9). We have been attending New Hope since 2014, and have called it our home since then. We are active in our church, and have participated in many small groups. I also help out as a sound technician on Sunday mornings. I love Jesus, my family and this church, and want to continue to represent and reflect Christ in everything I do.

Dan Haskins

Current Elder | 2021 - Present
Dan and his wife Becky have been attending New Hope since 1999. They have been married for 21 years and have four children. He accepted Jesus as his Savior as a child but never earnestly had a desire to seek Jesus until he was an adult. Dan most loves that New Hope has always been a place where poeple have a genuine love for Jesus.

Joetta Koeser

Current Elder | 2021 - Present
I accepted the Lord as a young child and was raised in a Christian home. Ward and I have attended New Hope since moving to Williston in 1978. We have 3 grown children and 9 grandchildren. Most recently I have been involved in the fellowship group ministry. Our group was established as a newcomer’s group to welcome all the new people to Williston, but has included several members who have lived in Williston for years. I also serve on the usher/greeter team and
volunteer/discipleship team. I love seeing New Hope “be the church” and  watching the transformation of people’s lives by God’s power.

Ashley Korner

New Nominee
Hi, I am Ashley Korner. The Lord moved me from small town Minnesota  to Williston in 2008.  I married my best friend Jared in 2018, and the Lord has since blessed us immensely with two beautiful healthy boys. My faith journey started as a very young child, growing up in a Christian home, but became my own when I realized that God wanted to be my closest friend and walk beside me through all things in life. He has rescued me from my own human desires. I know that God has me in Williston to share my love of worship with New Hope and anyone who will listen and He has blessed me with a salon in my home, and I believe this is my biggest mission field. We love being a part of the New Hope family, we can't wait to continue to watch what God is doing through it.

Dan Lauver

Current Elder | 2021 - Present
Dan and his wife Ali have been attending New Hope since 2015. Nine years ago, New Hope was just a place of worship for Dan, however it has become a home away from home. The New Hope family has supported Dan and his growing family with their two sons, and third on the way. Dan was born into a Christian family, but made his faith his own in high school. Since then, God has used Dan to lead small groups, engage in international missions, and serve on the New Hope Community Engagement Team. Dan is excited to see how God will use him, his family, and New Hope to reach the lost in the coming years.

Kerry Monson

New Nominee
I am a native of the area and have been blessed with two lovely girls. I’ve spent the majority of my finance career in healthcare, but have been in the oil and gas industry for the past 10 years. I became a member of New Hope in 2019. I grew up in a Christian home; however, God was not first in my life until I started attending New Hope. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of going through the 4 Discipleship Courses, which for me was the beginning of my walk with Jesus. I currently serve on the First Impressions Team and participate in a small group. I love New Hope because it acts out its Mission through teaching, giving back to those in need, serving our community and loving people.

Tracee Reinertson

Current Elder | 2021 - Present
Our family moved to Williston the summer of 2011 and we started attending New Hope that very first Sunday.  Ted and I have been married almost 20 years and have two daughters.  Michaela graduated from Oklahoma Wesleyan University this past May, and will be going to Asbury Theological Seminary this fall.  Emily is a sophomore at Oklahoma Wesleyan University in the nursing program.  Ted and I teach the “I Was Broke but Now I’m Not” finance class and I have had the pleasure of serving as the LBA Secretary for the past twelve years.  We are so excited to be a part of what God is doing here at New Hope and throughout our region!
